Course Structure
The classic structure is for each course or module to be comprised of 45 hours of work for an equivalent of 3 credits, ECTS system. (Exchange Credit Transfer System) which is used in Europe. Each course generally contains a maximum of 30 contact hours plus 15 hours of accompanying work.
M1: In-depth knowledge
- Academic Section
This year consists of 10 modules in the first semester and 10 in the second. They are divided into 3 categories:
- Core courses proposed in French or in English
- Major courses
- ARTEM workshops
A 3rd foreign language is offered as an elective and 3 adjustment courses are available for students who enter via the parallel admission process
- Projects and Initiatives
Students participate in numerous projects, among those the school project and a team spirit seminar.
M2: “Enrichment”
This year consists of certain core courses which focus on the general politics of the firm and which include: ethics and the responsibilities of the directors, financial strategy, risk management, the direction of an enterprise, etc. Students select 4 elective courses out of a total of 40 according to their professional projects.
- Research Students are required to write a mini-thesis at the end of their final year. This allows students to combine theory and research with practicality.
- Tutorship
Students are guided by a tutor who is a faculty member. The tutor follows and supports the students on a regular basis. Tutors also guide the students in writing reports and preside over the jury.
- The school project. This is a two semester project. The objective is to give students long term experience and stimulate entrepreneurial attitudes. The project is linked to the first year Project Management course. Projects are undertaken by groups of approximately 10 students. Projects can linked to student associations such as student government, arts, sports or the school’s junior firm. They can also be tied to ICN events such as advertising night, the ICN Gala or to humanitarian missions to South America, Asia or Africa. Each project is tutored by a faculty member. A written report is submitted for each project and an oral defense is a requirement.

The city |
 |
Nancy, a city at the heart of Europe 100 kilometres from Germany, from Belgium and from Luxembourg, Nancy, between Paris and Strasbourg, is naturally open to Europe. Nancy offers a fantastic opportunity to discover European Institutions : the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the Justice Courts in Luxembourg, the European Commission in Brussels, the Central European bank in Frankfurt, amongst others.
Nancy, city of art and culture The crucible for art nouveau, Nancy has for more than a century generated a considerable cultural appeal. Nancy Jazz Pulsation has become over the years an event of both national and international repute. There are plentiful event opportunities: Zénith, Opéra, Centre Chorégraphique National, Conservatoire de Musique, Théâtre de la Manufacture. Nancy is a regional capital, and a cultural and intellectual reference.
Nancy, a tertiary city Nancy is profoundly tertiary, economically-speaking, centred upon research and information technologies. The Nancéienne agglomeration is unparalleled as a centre of public and private decision making in the East of France. The Nancy basin counts nearly 20,000 businesses employing 160,000 staff. On average 1,000 companies are created every year.
Nancy, stronghold of knowledge The Nancy area is, in France, a stronghold of knowledge and culture with a university centre attended by more than 50,000 students and 3,500 lecture-researchers and made up of three large universities and thirteen French grandes écoles in the domains of engineering, management, architecture and art. The top-level research produced at the heart of these institutions is associated with the major national entities of French research (CNRS, INRIA, INRA, INSERM, INERIS, INRS, BRGM…).

I believe the language has not been a barrier, you just need to have
the intention to want to communicate and you will be able to. The
French are very understanding when they see you are trying.

I like Nancy because 30% of its population are students.
Sylvie Oberscheven Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Münster, Germany
I
only have three things to tell the new students: “La Foret” –
“Hemmingway” – “Integration week”. Do NOT miss out!
Susannah Robertson Acadia University. Nova Scotia, Canada
The Library at ICN has some useful English instrumental and theoretical books and magazines.
